Most people are stuck on that contradiction question so I thought I'd share this solution. This is how to do the contradiction question -Assume a root k. Plug it into the cubic. Factorise out the 2 to give 2 (k^3 + 3k^2) + 1. From the plus one, it will always be odd. Hence impossible for it to be 0.
This subreddit encourages questions, constructive feedback, and the sharing of knowledge and resources among IB students, alumni, and teachers. One can be scoring really well in Math SL, but once they move up to Math HL, they crash and burn. The hardest are usually known as Math HL, Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Group 1 Literature HL and/or
No idea about A level, but I know, AA HL is a bitch and a half. ALFM (because why not) has a harder and more advanced syllabus, requires a stronger foundation, but gives you ~30-60% more time on the exam for questions that are similar to IB. Its possible on ALFM to have time to figure things out. AAHL has always been a time crunch.
Math AA didn't exist two cohorts ago. Neither did Math AI. It used to be Math SL/HL, Math Studies and Further Maths. So there's only been one Math AA exam, in M21. Sorry for the mix up, anyways I'm just looking for any past papers that you feel like were more difficult than most. I've done some past papers but there haven't been any standouts

I took Maths HL (4), English A HL (5), History of the America's HL (4), and Econ HL (5). Physics SL (6) and Spanish B SL (5) were my other two classes. Econ HL is so similar to SL that you can probably take either interchangeably. The two classes are near-identical. Paper 3 is basic mathematics knowledge, not economics. Hl math is a struggle.
For my IB psych, at least, most of the work came with the first year (SL) part. The second year for HL was only covering 2 more options, refining our experiments, and doing some statistical analysis. For some reason they were really harsh on the grading that year, though; I was predicted to get a 7 and ended up with a 5. The also dropped my internal assessment grade from 25/25 to 15/25.
A common difficulty IB students encounter when revising with IB Past Papers is how to actually answer the exam questions. In addition, the official mark schemes accompanying the papers are often difficult to understand, or don't show all the working steps on how to reach the final answer (the mark schemes are designed for the markers of exams, not the students).

The Key Concepts section includes a carefully planned set exam revision videos that students can use to refresh specific concepts (e.g. Bivariate Statistics) that they may have missed or misunderstood in class. The revision videos typically range between 5 and 10 minutes in length and are a short and concise way for students to quickly refresh
